Massage preparation guide - 4 Elements studio in Kefalonia

Session Guidelines

Everything you need to know before, during, and after your massage.

Before Your Session

Arrive Early

Please arrive 5–10 minutes before your appointment. This gives you time to settle in, complete a brief consultation, and begin relaxing before we start.

Avoid Heavy Meals

Eat lightly at least 1–2 hours before your session. A full stomach can make lying face-down uncomfortable and reduce the effectiveness of the massage.

Warm Shower

A warm shower before your appointment helps relax your muscles and prepares your body for treatment. It also enhances the absorption of our olive oil-infused massage oils.

Stay Hydrated

Drink water before your session. Well-hydrated muscles respond better to massage techniques and you'll feel the benefits more deeply.

Communicate Health Issues

Let your therapist know about any injuries, medical conditions, allergies, or areas of concern. This helps us tailor your session for the best results.

Avoid Alcohol & Caffeine

Skip alcohol and excessive caffeine before your massage. Both can affect circulation and sensitivity, reducing the therapeutic benefits of your session.

During Your Session

Your comfort is our absolute priority. You undress to your own comfort level — professional draping ensures only the area being worked on is exposed. Your therapist will check in throughout to make sure the pressure and technique feel right.

Our therapists, Fotis and Isabella, both have backgrounds in physiotherapy and extensive massage training. Whether you choose relaxing, deep tissue, sports, couples, or cupping therapy, all our products are infused with 100% local and organic Kefalonian olive oil.

Don't hesitate to speak up at any point — whether you'd like more or less pressure, need a break, or want to focus on a specific area.

After Your Session

Drink Plenty of Water

Massage releases metabolic waste from muscles. Drinking water in the hours following your session helps your body flush these toxins naturally.

Rest & Recover

Allow yourself time to rest after your massage. Avoid strenuous activity for the remainder of the day to let your body fully absorb the benefits.

Mild Soreness is Normal

Especially after deep tissue or sports massage, light soreness for 24–48 hours is completely normal. It's your body healing and adjusting.

Warm Bath

A warm bath with Epsom salts in the evening can enhance relaxation, ease any tenderness, and extend that wonderful post-massage feeling.

Listen to Your Body

Your body has just experienced therapeutic work. Honour what it tells you — sleep if you're tired, eat if you're hungry, and move gently.

Book Your Next Session

Regular massage delivers cumulative benefits. Whether weekly during your holiday or monthly for maintenance — consistency is key to lasting results.

Cancellation & Rescheduling

We understand that plans change, especially on holiday. We kindly ask for at least 12 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling. This allows us to offer your slot to another guest who may be waiting.

Late cancellations (less than 12 hours) or no-shows may be subject to a cancellation fee. If you need to reschedule, just call us at +30 694 480 1019 or message via WhatsApp.

Preparing for a Mobile Massage

Booking a mobile massage? We bring everything — professional table, fresh linens, olive oil-infused massage oils, and ambient music. All you need to provide is a quiet space of approximately 2×3 meters.

A bedroom, living room, or sheltered terrace all work beautifully. Let us know your setup when booking and we'll adapt to your space. The same guidelines apply — shower, hydrate, and be ready to fully relax.
